Your first contact with the underwater world, ideal for anyone who has never dived and wants to try it without committing to a full course. It takes place in confined or shallow water, always with an SSI instructor, learning the basics of equipment and breathing underwater. On completion you receive a digital Try Scuba recognition card.

Your first certification as an autonomous diver and the gateway to recreational diving. It combines theory (online, at your own pace), confined-water practice and several open-water dives. On completion, you can dive anywhere in the world to a depth of 18 metres with a buddy of a similar level.

The next step after Open Water Diver: 5 specialty dives (usually Deep Diving and Navigation as compulsory, plus others to choose from such as wrecks, buoyancy, night diving or Nitrox) that let you try different specialties without completing each full course. The certification allows you to dive to 30 metres anywhere in the world.

A course focused on your own safety and that of your dive buddies. It includes first aid, CPR, oxygen and AED use (React Right), as well as techniques to identify and prevent stress, handle emergencies and perform rescues in the water. It is an essential requirement for progressing to the professional level (Divemaster).

The first step of a professional diving career. It trains you to safely guide certified divers: assessing the dive site, briefings, group control and leading the dive. It allows you to work in dive centres and is the step before becoming a Divemaster.

SSI offers a wide range of specialty courses: wrecks, navigation, buoyancy, night diving, deep diving, currents, Nitrox, marine ecology, underwater photography, among others. Each specialty focuses on a specific skill or environment and adds credits towards recognition certifications such as Advanced Specialty Diver or Master Diver.
